Installing a Wind Turbine: Complete Wind Power Systems Explained

Windmills have come a long way from the days when they were big, bulky contraptions used, primarily, to grind grain and pump water. If you are reading this article, you are probably interested in building or buying a wind generator of your own. More than likely, however, you are only familiar with the turbine itself, when, in actuality, a complete wind power system has three important components, the turbine itself, a charge controller, a power storage system, and a converter.

How to Finish Concrete So That It Looks Like Stone

Concrete finishes are limited only by what you can think of to make. Smooth, rough, swirls, colors, shapes and so on are all possible using concrete. Making concrete look like stone when finished is a two part process. The first part is to color the concrete to resemble the stone color you are looking for. The second is making a form or stamp that will when used, create stone shapes in the finished concrete. If you are making walkway stones you can build several forms and pour them all at once. Pouring a sidewalk or patio is a little more difficult. Stone forms can be built either as a form that the concrete is poured into and then stamped or the form itself has the stone details and the concrete is placed inside and then flipped when dried. I refer to stamp my blocks as that way I can see if I like the look or I can while the block is still wet, redo the stamp. Stamps are available commercially but I have made my own with good results.
